About Us

Fellow Stars

Alike the stars high above every single star shows its individual glow. Together they shine heaps brighter. Giving light to and taking it from other stars is key to the anaLoge.

What we do

Stars are mostly, but not necessarily, photographers. All those into images like painters, exhibition designers, even sculptresses and sculptors and others might be fellow stars of the anaLoge.

How to join

A suggestion from a fellow for a new star is followed by the agreement of all stars existing at that time. Personality and expertise are of major importance. That’s it, no more no less.

Insights

The anaLoge is a fellowship of individuals who share their passion for images. The fellows are called stars. Like the stars in the sky, each star of the anaLoge has an individual sparkle. Together they shine heaps brighter. Giving light to and taking it from other stars is key to the anaLoge.
Yes, and more: a network of individuals who strive to “develop” individually, and by doing so, lift up the anaLoge and fellow stars to another level. A network with emphasis on empathy.
Participating stars are mostly, but not necessarily, photographers. All those who enjoy creating images, like painters, exhibition designers, even sculptresses and sculptors might be fellow stars of the anaLoge.
It’s all about your mindset, your creativity and curiosity, about your willingness to share and to receive. For a star, it is a privilege to have other knowledgeable fellow stars around who are willing to give of their time and expertise, and are worth taking from. The anaLoge is beneficial for every single star. And, conversely, every star as an individual is precious for the anaLoge.
There is no way to apply. A star in spe is suggested by a star of the anaLoge, so you must have caught the attention of a star before. That suggestion is followed by the agreement of all stars existing at that time. Personality and expertise are of major importance.
Gender doesn’t matter at all. It’s all about an open mind, about creativity, about unique ideas, about the spirit of cooperation. All this has nothing to do with gender. Gender may be part of the work and focus of a star, but gender is a non-issue for the becoming of a star.
There are no rules or structures. The anaLoge welcomes values like the “4 Rs”: Reliability, Respect, Responsibility and Reputation.
The anaLoge appreciates literally all aspects of image making. The stars feel at home in many different processes: shooting, developing, printing, technical and conceptual aspects, and also theoretical issues and photosophical topics. They expose film and paper, develop negatives, and reverse develop to positives. Some create unique specimens of art, one-of-a-kind pieces, in the darkroom or right on site. In workshops, exclusively tailored for fellow stars, they get deeper into the things they know more about than others. And stars pass on their knowledge.
If you’re not a fellow star, there is indeed a way to be featured in a guest post. The anaLoge is happy to welcome new ideas and concepts - no need to be on the same page with us to get on our page. An open mind is key to the anaLoge and its fellow stars. However, of course a guest post has to comply to some basic requirements. To ensure this, we don’t apply a set of rules - you just need a star to mentor your post. Fellow stars act according to their open mindset, so each star is able to guide a guest to meet basic requirements. That said, what you need for a contribution is the connection to one of the stars who will guide you to your guest post.
Right now, we are spreading our wings over Europe. But there are amazing folks all around the planet. The anaLoge is looking forward to discovering them.
The 02.02.2020 is a so called palindrome date. It reads the same backward as forward. The next date showing that “0 and X” format is 03.03.3030. The anaLoge of today loves thrilling images. Images that found anchorage in the consciousness or the subconscious of the recipients. No anchor, no remembrance of images when out of sight. No thrill. But anchored images will still fascinate people in the far future, more than one thousand years ahead of our time - let’s keep fingers crossed. In the meantime the anaLoge proclaims and celebrates the 02.02. in every year the “Day of Development”.
